  Tripura State Cooperative Bank was registered under the Tripura State Cooperative Societies Act,1358 (Act VI of 1358 T.E) under Certification of Registration No. 183, dated 21 January 1957,Wing Comdr. M. Ramunny,DM and Collector was the first Chairman of this bank. The bank started its operation with 3 branches namely Agartala Branch, Dharmanagar Branch & Udaipur Branch and one Head office at Agartala. Now the bank has 39 branches & Extension counters all over the state.

The bank has a board with 16 Board of Directors. 11 Directors are elected from members and Shri Madhab Saha, MLA is holding the post of President. There are 3 Board of Directors from State Government, one from the NABARD Tripura Regional Office and Managing Director is the banks representative.

Shri Swapan Kumar Saha, Ex Deputy General Manager and Chief Regional Manager of UBI is the Managing Director of this bank and under his active leadership the bank has a plan of expansion to spread at least up to every block level of the State by 2010.

Shri Amit Bhattacharya is holding the post of General Manager. He retried from the service of UBI as Asstt. Regional manager and has been serving this bank w.e.f. 12.06.06 and has a professional attitude.

Tripura State Govt. is the major share holder of this bank with more than 56% of paid –up share capital. Thanks to the constant support and patronize of State Government the bank occupies a remarkable position in the overall economy of the State. Being the Apex Bank of the State TSCB has its full time commitment to rural economy. Already the bank is having the highest CD Ratio in the State.

The bank has a total workforce of 251 Nos. including Officers, Assistant Grade Employee and Sub-ordinate staffs who are fully motivated to serve the customers at par with the industry. Technical up gradation is in progress and by 2009 the bank will fully operationalized by the computer.

We have a reach to almost every corner of the country under tie-up with two All India Level Banks where we transfer money electronically and issue at par Cheques. We also collect and pay Cheques under AIMAS.

In fine, TSCB is a bank of the people by the people and for the people of the State of Tripura.
